Island Backpackers Hostel - Semporna

Fantastic hostel experience with comfortable rooms, clean bathrooms, and a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The staff were really nice too help me find alternative accommodation when they were full. The breakfast spread was delicious and included donuts, but be sure to come early. The location was perfect, just minutes away from restaurants, the bus station, and a supermarket. Despite a few minor drawbacks such as thin walls and occasional noise from diving guests, I would highly recommend this hostel to anyone visiting the area. I had a great stay and would definitely choose to stay here again.

Good value and convenient location

This hostel offered good value for the money and was conveniently located near the main attractions in the city. Its WiFi was strong and allowed me to upload my travel photos without any problem. the staff was nice and helpful, providing me with useful information about the area.

For instance, there was only one toilet on the private room side of the building, which often caused queues. some of the facilities, such as the bathrooms, could do with an upgrade.

The hotel is conveniently located in the center of town, making it easy to access restaurants, the bus station, and the supermarket within minutes. The staff at this hotel are happy, helpful, and provide good service. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The breakfast provided at this hotel is pretty good, with a variety of options available.

The only thing that could be improved is the quality of the coffee served at breakfast.

The receptionist, Sansan, was helpful and friendly. She even spoke Chinese, made communication much easier for us. She took the time to explain the types of plants we saw on our way from the airport to Semporna and recommended excellent island hopping tours. When I fell ill after a tour, she were really nice too organize rice soup for me. The room was spacious and clean, exceeding my expectations. Although the bed was a bit too soft for my liking, the overall stay was pleasant. I must mention that the other staff members were also very pleasant.

The air conditioning in the room was fantastic, and the beds were very clean and comfortable. I also liked that they offered fresh towels daily and had laundry facilities on-site, which was convenient. the location was great, as it was within walking distance to the waterfront and local restaurants.

The walls were paper-thin, and noise from other guests made it difficult to sleep at night. the shared bathrooms were also not kept very clean, and the breakfast offered was very basic.

OMG! My mind was blown by how amazing this hostel was! The manager, Mr. Zayn, was an absolute gem - so kind and always willing to help. The cleanliness level was next-level, the beds were as comfy as clouds, and the staff were super friendly! The fact that they sent my forgotten clothes to KK by bus was jaw-dropping! And let's talk about the breakfast - toast, butter, peanut butter. And the caretaker and their family were so friendly! The location was super convenient, close to the waterfront and the main area of the city. And did I mention the free breakfast? Sufficient and delicious! They even had a water dispenser for hot, cold, or room temperature water. Oh, and the spacious area for drying clothes and swimsuits? Perfect! this place was a true gem and I will definitely be coming back when I'm in town. 15 words: Mind-blowing hostel with amazing manager, comfy beds, tasty breakfast, and friendly staff.

This backpacker's hostel is conveniently located near the jetty Pier for trips to Mabul. It is also conveniently situated in the center of town, close to the bus terminal and local places of attraction. The rooms are clean and comfortable with functioning AC. The staff is friendly and always ready to help. The breakfast is delicious and there is a variety of facilities, including a microwave and water dispenser.

The only downside is the lack of a hanging and drying area for used towels in the dormitory rooms.

My experience at this backpacker's hostel was not satisfactory. The location was convenient, being close to the main attractions and transportation hubs. the staff was helpful in arranging transportation and providing information about the area. Lastly, the cleanliness of the bathrooms and provision of fresh towels were appreciated.

There were several aspects that I did not enjoy during my stay. the lack of security measures, such as a security code, made me feel uneasy about the safety of my belongings.

The mobile signal was weak in some areas of the hostel and the Wi-Fi was occasionally spotty. It would have been nice to have some fruit added to the breakfast options.
